    Laying down her last wing

    42 x 30 x 32 cm

    August 18th. 2017

In February I found this small skeleton, besides a full feathered and almost full grown common barn owl

( tower owl box) on the first floor of the tower. Her next of kin.  Alas, she had lost almost all her feathers. Her feathers where sprinkled around her like petals under a blossoming tree. She only kept a section of her right wing and a few tufts on her head.

This fine girl, she wants to give up her last wing ( might as well) lay it down, be done and just go.
